The show starts with DX. Triple H starts to talk then Rey Mysterio came out to say Michaels disrespected because he will win the title and go to Mania. CM Punk, Luke Gallows and Serrena interrupt them.
- Teddy Long changed it to HBK vs. Rey Mysterio and Punk vs. Triple H instead of the tag title match.
- Triple H defeated CM Punk by DQ when Serrena and Gallows interfere. They go to shave Triple H's hair but HBK makes the save.
R-Truth pinned Chris Jericho after a missed codebreaker.
Drew McIntyre defeated John Morrison - good match with kendo sticks and in the crowd action.
Michelle McCool calls out Mickie James.. her music plays and its Layla in a fat suit. McCool over 'Piggy James' in a quick match. Fans chanted 'this is boring.'
Batista confronts HBK and says he should stay out of his way. Triple H said 'or else what.'

HBK and Rey Mysterio went to a no contest when Batista hit HBK then Rey. Triple H came out and to help, then Underatker came out and chokeslammed Mysterio and HBK. Jericho attacked Taker. Straight Edge Society came out. Batista left limping and didn't go up to the ramp.

un'altro report
Degeneration X come out to open the show. Triple H starts to talk when Rey Mysterio comes out and says Shawn Michaels doesn't think he can beat The Undertaker for the belt at Royal Rumble. The Straight Edge Society come out. Triple H says he's surprised CM Punk is straight and makes fun of him. Teddy Long comes out and says there will not be a Unified WWE Tag Team Championship match tonight. Instead, Mysterio will fight Michaels right now and Triple H will fight CM Punk.
* Triple H b. CM Punk via disqualification when both members of the Straight Edge Society interfere. They jump Hunter and try to shave his head but Michaels comes out for the save. DX tries to attack Punk but he puts Serena Deeb in front of him, kisses her and sneaks out of the rink. HBK fakes Sweet Chin Music on Serena and exits.
* Chris Jericho is shown backstage on his way to the ring.
* R-Truth b. Chris Jericho after a failed Codebreaker on the ropes as Truth rolled over top of Jericho for the pin.
* Backstage Batista interview. He talks about the Royal Rumble match. John Morrison is shown on his way to the ring.
* John Morrison vs. WWE Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre. Drew gets the win to retain after Morrison went for Starship Pain and McIntyre got his knees up.
* Michelle McCool Interview. She says she is going to send Piggie James back to the barnyard for good, etc. Then ends by saying Mickie went wee, wee all the way home.
* Michelle McCool vs Layla (dressed as Piggy James) Layla slowly chases McCool around the outside of the ring, back in and goes for a splash. McCool pins her for the win. The crowd lets them hear it with "boring" chants.
* In a backstage segment Shawn Michaels is shown on his way to the ring. Batista gets in his face and tells him to stay out of his way on Sunday. Triple H gets in Batista's face and Batista backs down.
Shawn Michaels vs. Rey Mysterio. Rey goes for 619 early, Shawn moves. The match goes back and forth when Rey hits head scissors on Michaels, taking him to the outside. Mysterio hits 619, goes for the springboard, but Michaels counters and hits Sweet Chin Music out of nowhere. Both men are down. Batista comes out and spears HBK then hits a spinebuster on Mysterio. Triple H hits the ring and clotheslines Batista over the top and goes out after him. The lights go out and The Undertaker's music hits. The lights come up and Undertaker is in the ring. He double chokeslams Mysterio and Michaels to end the show.

Per il resto il fatto che Rey si sia confrontato con HBK e non si sia fatto il tag team match mi fa pensare che l'infortunio a Taker sia reale e serio (nonostante le chokeslam,ma quello conta relativamente) e che abbiano voluto iniziare una storyline fra Mr.619 ed HBK basata proprio sul fatto che Micheals sottovaluti il folletto di san diego

Felicissimo per l'ingresso che sembrerebbe definitivo di Serena Deeb nella stable nuova di zecca di Cm Punk.
Spero che questa stable venga gestita un po' meglio delle ultime create in WWE (Ruthless Roundtable, Legacy, Hart Dynasty).
Si potrebbe anche pensare ad un bellissimo feud tra La Starigh Edge Society e la Hart Dynasty quando finalmente la DX si sarà levata dalle palle.

in effetti sono deluso anche io per i tag titles, grande promotions e alla fine niente, che fregatura. Drew mantiene e si sapeva, bisogna vedere quanto ha giocato sporco per valutare se è una vittoria netta. Il resto sembra interessante, Batista sembra che non sappiano cosa fargli fare

diciamo che non è poi cosi tanto scontato,a parte che secondo me non lo era neanche prima.....non mi stupirei se fosse il ME della rumble

il main event deve essere il RR match, non può essere altrimenti; io credo Taker manterrà, poi l'esito del RR match ci inizierà a far capire cosa potrebbe succedere a WM, ma solo dopo EC avremo chiarezza sui piani per WM, perchè li le cose potrebbero cambiare di nuovo come successo lo scorso anno dove dopo la RR avevamno dato tutti per certi Cena vs Orton per il W.H.T. e Edge vs Triple H per il titolo WWE a WM e invece poi è successo ben altro

è gia successo che il me era un match per il whc e non necessariamente la rumble
è successo raramente:
1)nel 1996, c'era un signor match per il titolo WWF tra Bret Hart & The Undertaker molto + interessante di un RR match dove c'era poco star power
2)nel 1998 e anche li c'era di mezzo un grande match tra HBK & Taker per il titolo del mondo, addirittura Casket Match e ci stava far finire il PPV con l'immagine forte di Taker bruciato nella bara da Kane
3)nel 2006, solo ed esclusivamente per mettere su quella boiata del ritorno di Taker, assente dal PPV precedente, col ring distrutto
quest'anno non credo ci siano dubbi sul fatto che il RR match sarà il main event visyo che pullula di starpower, mentre, senza offese il match tra Taker & Rey non sto grande hype

A parte tutto, puntata carina e scorrevole. Batista mena un pò a caso, un pò ovunque. Ai miei occhi non è certo il più accreditato per la vittoria alla rumble. Mi stuzzica vedere le reazioni di HHH nei suoi confronti.
Mysterio-Taker potrebbe rivelare qualche sorpresona invece. Pronostico il Messicano come vincitore della cintura, e non datemi del pazzo.
Punk interessantissimo. Felice di vedere che gli hanno trovato qualcosa da fare dopo il limbo del dopo-cintura. Ed era ora.
