Kellie Skater vs. Jessica James
Il match è durato poco ma non è stato male. S'è visto poco ma è servito a dare un'altra vittoria a Kellie, anche in vista del suo job contro Rachel Summerlyn nel prossimo volume

Jessie McKay vs. Sassy Stephie
Lontano dal match con Madison Eagles. Qualche botch ed imprecisione ha fatto la sua comparsa nel match che ha però avuto i suoi momenti. Buona la parte finale

Rayna Von Tash vs. Malia Hosaka
Mi rimangio quanto avevo detto su Malia Hosaka. Rayna è stata come la criptonite per lei. Ce l'ha messa tutta per cacciare un match decente e all'inizio ho avuto l'impressione che Rayna riuscisse a seguirla abbastanza bene ma poi il peggio, ha botchato troppe sequenze, incluso il finale e la sua mossa tipica

Mercedes Martinez vs. Tomoka Nakagawa
Davvero un ottimo match, forse troppo basso nella card ma anche la durata è stata davvero ottimale. Strano vedere Mercedes prendersi tutta quell'offensiva ma si è presa diversi colpi mica leggeri e poi quel Vertical Brainbuster. Davvero ottimo

Allison Danger vs. Melanie Cruise
Sul serio questo match ha avuto solo cinque minuti? Mi aspettavo qualche cosa in più lo ammetto, e il match stava venendo su anche abbastanza bene, poi coosì, il finale (tra l'altro botchato perchè non ho capito se Annie fosse in una posizione sbagliata o Melanie avesse intenzione sul serio di scaraventarle Allison addosso) che sminuisce tutto. Jennifer fa nuovamente il suo ritorno e finalmente viene ufficializzato il suo match di ritorno. Eddacci Allison, il microfono glielo potevi passare!!!

No DQ Match: Rachel Summerlyn vs. Daffney

Il match era iniziato bene, nonostante fossi abbastanza scettica sul fatto che queste due si incontrassero in un No DQ Match. Poi si è visto qualche cosa di buono, si passa fuori dal quadrato, si ritorno sopra e boom ..... mossa finale di Daffney. Tutto questo in quanto? Nell'arco di sei minuti? Non vedo come Rachel possa chiedere un rematch e ottenerlo con una sconfitta così "pulita" (per quanto possa essere pulita dopo un Low Blow)

Hiroyo Matsumoto vs. LuFisto
Qualche minuto in più e questo match si alzava a livelli molto più alti. LuFisto si dimostra la solita eccellente worker che è e il carisma di Hiroyo le rende facile l'obiettivo di intrattenere. Si sono viste azioni cattive come il Tokaido Drop della Matsumoto o il Cannonball di LuFisto. Ripeto, qualche minuto in più e il match avrebbe reso ancora di più

Cheerleader Melissa vs. Misaki Ohata
Completamente diverso da quello che mi immaginavo. Vedendolo la prima volta mi è sembrato "strano" e la seconda non è stata da meno. Melissa ha praticamente messo la quinta e ha lasciato pochissimo spazio alla Ohata che dal canto suo sembrava praticamente assente in questo match. Finale lavorato neanche poi tanto, ma forse è solo impressione

SHIMMER Tag Team Title Match: Portia Perez & Nicole Matthews vs. Ariel & Nikki Roxx
Dopo tre minuti persi praticamente in stupidaggini varie il match fila liscio in maniera abbastanza inaspettata. Dopo solo 6-7 minuti di wrestling (escludendo i 3 minuti precedenti) la vittoria che arriva in maniera inaspettata su Nikki Roxx (non ricordavo affatto questo particolare). Contenta di non vedere il nome di Ariel nel prossimo show, la sua forma è praticamente inadatta ad un ring al momento

Ayako Hamada vs. Daizee Haze
Come aspettavo il match è stato sorprendente, forse in modo più positivo di come avevo immaginato, non vedendo molto bene lo stile di Daizee con quello della Hamada. Le due si combinano bene e mettono su un match discreto dall'inizio alla fine. Che calcione che si becca nel finale Daizee che viene poi seguito da un Hamada Driver conclusivo. Meglio a sapersi che Ayako Hamada avrà ben quattro match a disposizione nel prossimo Volume

Ayumi Kurihara vs. Sara Del Rey
Match della serata sotto ogni punto di vista. I 16-17 minuti concessi permettono al match di svilupparsi al meglio e di crescere piano piano fino a sfociare nella parte conclusiva che lascia senza fiato. Dopo aver visto Sara subire l'Uranage di Ayumi credevo fosse finita ed invece si rialza più aggressiva che mai. Finale a sorpresa che non toglie nulla a Sara e che concede un'altra vittoria importante ad Ayumi che è più lanciata che mai verso lo SHIMMER Championship

SHIMMER Title Match: MsChif vs. Madison Eagles
Un altro match molto ma molto strano. Domani lo rivedo ma posso dire che mi ha ricordato terribilmente il Main Event del Volume 18 dove MsChif ha sconfitto Sara Del Rey conquistando la cintura. Madison controlla praticamente tutto il match con ogni sorta di sottomissione, cercando di sfruttare anche come può la flessibilità di MsChif. Piccolo firing up finale per MsChif che perde improvvisamente, quasi come se a Madison non fosse costato nulla mettere a segno l'Hell Bound conclusivo. Ora mi spiego perchè i fan dell'Eagles Club erano rimasti shockati, praticamente neanche io mi ero accorta che Madison avesse vinto la cintura fino a quando Bryce non gliel'ha consegnata

Formerly one half of the SHIMMER Tag Team Champions with her partner Ashley Lane, Nevaeh is looking to establish herself in the singles ranks after a rocky start as a solo competitor at our last set of tapings. Nevaeh could be just one big victory away from becoming a real singles threat.

Additionally, Mia Yim and Athena have been announced for the SPARKLE pre-show.

FROM THE HORSE'S MOUTH....8/18/10

We're going out of the pot and into the fire this month, upon posting this I will either be understood or completely done with SHIMMER.

First, I really must thank whomever felt the need to repost my blog a few months ago on the SHIMMER board. Not only did you misconstrue my words and flat out put wrongful meaning to my thoughts, you also got me heat at a company I emjoyed being a part of and censure from those in charge.
I am not booked on the upcoming shows in September and while there has been no verbal confrimation that it is because of the reposting, I have a very good feeling it is because of the heat that was unnecessarily caused by the person stirring crap up for no reason. This person could have easily emailed me to clarify but instead decided to take something I had written for MY site and repost it without my permission and without complete understanding of what I was saying.

What I actually said was "while at SHIMMER I came to the realization......" Since SHIMMER is the only place I actually watch the whole show, or at least as much as possible, it is of course there that I would have revelations about the biz and my place in it. It is also the place that I would see the evolution of wrestling the clearest since it is comprised of today's top talent and tomorrow's future stars.
In this case, my revelation was the evolution of wrestling from the slower-paced matches that focused on methodical psycology and telling an in-ring story to today's faster paced performances with high risk moves done throughout between opponents who are just stepping into the ring for the first time together in front of that particular audience.

This was in NO WAY me "ripping" on SHIMMER in any way shape or form. It was simply a statement of fact about the direction the industry has taken and the evolution of the sport over the time frame of my career; which led me to question my place in today's world of wrestling and question whether or not it was time for me to exit the scene. SHIMMER has had some really good feuds and storylines and while I cannot fathom having the ability of some of these women, I can certainly appreciate the talent it takes and dedication they have to have learned the high-risk stuff they do. After all, it really wasn't that long ago that Scott Steiner first did the Frankensteiner and everyone was in shock.... ok, maybe it was a while ago, but at the time it was HUGE. Then Vader with the moonsault! These were not moves you saw often, much less done by the bigger guys, now they are high-spots in most matches.

When was the last time you watched a match, the end of a great feud and sat on the edge of your seat counting with the ref or babyface for each pin that only reached 2? When was the last time you watched a show and felt the agnst and frustration of the babyface, truely hated the heal no matter how incredible their talent was? When was the last time you had to actully wonder if tempers were lost or if the submission hold was causing true pain? When is the last time the energy of the wrestlers in the ring transcended the moves and you were lost in the story being told rather than simply being entertained? Until next month XXOO

LuFisto's not on this one. As we posted when the shows were announed, we scaled the talent list back a bit this time to go along with scaling back on the front row ticket price. We had 34 wrestlers on the last set of shows, which was simply too many. As a result, we will be rotating some talent out with each set of shows rather than booking everybody every time.

Premessa....il problema del minutaggio,non so perchè, ma l'ho avvertito molto in questo volume.I match erano davvero molto brevi!

Kellie Skater vs. Jessica James / Jessie McKay vs. Sassy Stephie 7 Rayna Von Tash vs. Malia Hosaka...stesso discorso per tutti e tre.Troppo brevi!!Se poi ci aggiungiamo anche i botch siamo messi bene.Rayna ha fatto davvero un brutto match e Malia purtroppo non è riuscita a migliorare la situazione...il finale non mi è piaciuto per niente.Kellie vince ma non convince del tutto,almeno me.Jessie McKay non me ne vogliate ma continua a non andarmi a genio.

Mercedes Martinez vs. Tomoka Nakagawa....il primo match che mi è piaciuto.Anche qui i minuti concessi sono stati pochi ma il risultato non ne ha risentito.Mi sono piaciute molto le due e Tomoka da heel è davvero molto brava.Come nel 29, il suo Enziguri è stato fantastico ed è sembrato molto doloroso.Piacevolmente sopreso dal Vertical Barinbuster.Confermo che la Nakagawa mi piace davvero tanto!

Allison Danger vs. Melanie Cruise....il finale ha rovinato davvero tutto e ho capito davvero poco.In quante occasioni l'arbitro avrebbe dovuto chiamare la squalifica?Quando è stata spinta a terra,quando è intervenuta Annie...ho perso il conto xD Davvero non ho capito cosa è successo.Non mi ha entusiasmato molto..soprattutto visto il match precedente

No DQ Match: Rachel Summerlyn vs. Daffney....lotta nel ring...belle mosse fuori e vittoria di Daffney abbastanza schiacciante.Non mi aspettavo niente di diverso.Senza infamia e senza lode...l'unica match in cui non mi sono lamentato della durata sinceramente.Mal digerisco Rachel quindi passo avanti xD

Hiroyo Matsumoto vs. LuFisto...secondo match che mi è piaciuto davvero tanto.Anche qui, come praticamente in tutti i match, pochi minuti a disposizione ma le due tirano fuori comunque un ottimo match.Altro match che mi fa cambiare idea sulla Matsumoto che ha fatto davvero bene.

Cheerleader Melissa vs. Misaki Ohata....discorso opposto.La Ohata continua a non convincermi.Stavolta è stata più precisa ma Melissa non le ha lasciato molto spazio.Che Melissa!!Che rabbia mostrava quando ,dopo 4-5 pugni della Ohata, la stendeva a terra con un csolo colpo.Peccato per quell'errorino sul Samoan Drop..ma vabè.Ottimo il Kudo Driver finale...ora aspettiamo Hamada

Portia Perez & Nicole Matthews vs. Ariel & Nikki Roxx.....forse la fase "comedy" all'inizio è stata troppo lunga...ma ho riso davvero tanto xD!!Fantastica Roxxi che fa la ruota e chiede ad Ariel di imitarla.Di ariel abbiamo già parlato e anche io sono contento se ai prossimi tapings non ci sarà.Il match è venuto su abbastanza bene.Nikki lotta con una buona grinta e non sbaglia nulla.Di Ariel non mi ha convinto quel Tornado DDT...ok il wrestling è finto ma non mi dispiacerebbe vedere qualche colpo più "vero", quella mossa invece è venuta un pò malino.Mi dispiace che il pin se lo sia dovuto prendere Nikki ma vabè.

Ayako Hamada vs. Daizee Haze...Bello,Bello,Bello!!!Contro Mercedes e Sara per me non avevamo visto la stessa Hamada di adesso.Ogni colpo è stato preciso,pulito e con la giusta forza.Bella la submission alla testa e al braccio, bellissimi Enziguri,Moonsault,Hamada Driver e quant'altro.Daizee da heel mi piace parecchio ma in questo match mi ha dato l'impressione di essere stata travolta di Hamada.Ha messo a segno poche mosse...o almeno così mi è sembrato

Ayumi Kurihara vs. Sara Del Rey...match della serata a mani basse!L'unico match che ha avuto una durata ragionevole.Entrambe fantastiche e impeccabili.Come dico sempre adoro i Drop Kick di Ayumi,soprattutto dal paletto.Sara mette a segno una serie di sottomissioni davvero ottime...le ha torto il braccio in una maniera spaventosa!Fantastica la Backbreaker di Sara (era la prima volta che la faceva?) e anche la finisher di Ayumi.Lì pensavo fosse finita ma Sara ne esce più incazzata di prima!!Finale per roll up che almeno non toglie nulla a Sara.Poi pensavo...perchè non fare questo come Main Event del 32?Spero che Melissa-Hamada sia superiore a questo...anche se la vedo dura

MsChif vs. Madison Eagles....che dire?Sarei pazzo a dire che il match è stato brutto, ma lo avevo immaginato in maniera differente.Mschif batte Kong,Lufisto,Wesna,Nikki mantenendo il titolo per 12 volumi e poi viene battuta così?Madison tira fuori ogni tipo di Submission possibile e , come abbiamo detto spesso, è bello vedere MsChif arrotolata come un pezzo di plastilina....però poi mi sarei aspettato anche altre mosse.Una fase, non a terra, diversa.Invece Mschif mette a segno a stento lo STanding Moonsault e la submission e poi si becca la finisher di Madison dal nulla.Ripeto..non male ma non me l'aspettavo affatto così

Tutto sommato un volume davvero buono!Tolti i tre match iniziali, gli incontri sono stati tutti dal 7.5/8 in su.
